A STORY FOR THE AGES - FALL 2011 NEWSLETTER
…And so it begins. We at Advertising Distributors of America (ADA) are very pleased to present our inaugural newsletter in conjunction with the coming out party for our shiny new website, www.GO-ADA.com. With a long and storied history that travels back to 1939, ADA, already an acknowledged leader in the lettershop, fulfillment and print markets, has taken major steps in 2011 to broaden its corporate message in keeping up with the demand for its unique services.
One of the basic components of that message remains constant, however; the notion that no matter how busy the company is, no matter how fast it continues to grow, the company retains, and embraces, the concept that fuels its engine…that being that everyone that works at ADA is considered family, people who care deeply for their clients, and for each other. It’s worked for generations, and it continues to be the lifeblood of this industry leader.
Matthew Michaelis, president of ADA, has been leading the charge since he took the reigns of the company a number of years ago. Offered Matthew: “While our company has expanded into a 50,000 square foot facility, featuring some of the industry’s most technologically advanced equipment and software in support of our highly regarded services, it really comes down to our people, and their work ethic. I know that other companies often say this, but here, we live it. ADA is a family business in the truest sense. My family can often be found on premises, some who work here full time, and others lending a hand where needed, and our valued employees are an extension of that family.”
Matthew goes on: “Our employees, many of whom have been here for years, are absolutely committed to ensuring that our services are more than adequate; like all of us at ADA, they have professional pride, and strive for perfection. They will stop at nothing to make sure that our clients are satisfied well beyond their expectations. I suppose that’s why we have so many major clients that have been with us for literally decades. And that tells me we’re doing things the right way. In my mind, THAT’S the ADA way.”
As part of ADA’s expansion program, the core of our client-first company philosophy has been broadened to provide our clients with a hands-on opportunity for program enrichment. Previously, our clients would usually speak with our sales or customer service representative at the outset. Soon after, our creative, database and operations teams were brought into the mix to contribute their areas of expertise. This has worked remarkably well for decades, but as time pressed on, the advent of newly minted tools of communication offered us the opportunities to interact within the company, and with our clients, in a manner that is considerably more efficient.
Enter Project/Team. Project/Team was the culmination of our company listening to its clients and its key management as we considered how to continue our evolution within the DM industry. What became clear was that rather than focusing on various segments of a program in a unilateral manner, we and our clients would be much better served if every client and program was assigned a core team of ADA experts specifically charged with seeing a given program through from A-to-Z.
Now, every client and program has a Project/Team Lead assigned to that account. It is the responsibility of the lead to assemble the team, and convene on a regular basis as various milestones are set and realized for our clients. What this provided for us was a clear cut highway of communication that virtually eliminated anything from falling through the cracks (not that that had occurred previously).
And for our clients? Now they had a clear channel of accountability and communication with the key players at ADA, a channel that ultimately increases efficiencies, reduces expenses, and establishes a very strong open line of dialogue between ADA and its clients that is simply unmatched by many in the DM industry. Add to that the brand new client login feature on our website, enabling up-to-the-minute status reports of any respective program, and suddenly, ADA is providing the types of communication to our clients that are so very much needed in this world of technological evolution.
Says Matthew “if we can make our client’s jobs easier, their marketing programs more profitable, and their expenses minimized, then I know we’ve done our job, and done it well. That’s what we strive for each and every day, and Project/Team is the instrument that will make it happen.”
